As the design team built out and fine-tuned our design system we needed to align on what the ideal experience should be. 

We started with empathy maps to get in the mind of the user.

Then we considered our values as a company.

Combining our values with empathy points we created our guiding principles. 
We separated out principles that are specific to eVisit from ones that are more universal and should apply to all products.
Then we phrased them how we'd like users to feel when they use our product.
For each principle, we outline usage and examples for clarity.
