Making a Complex System Simple
Interviews with the company's employees identified the major problems: confusing navigation and a lack of visibility to key information. I solved for these issues with a simplified side navigation that collapses on interior pages for more screen space, and a feed style dashboard that shows upcoming meetings, reminders, and the latest news.
Part of the project was adding new features to the intranet, like Workflow (a system to allow users to complete requests). The first Workflow app I designed was for capital expenditure requests.
